Gordon Mercer served as the first president of the Association of Retired Faculty and Staff at WCU from 2012-2014
It was great to serve as the first president and founder of the WCU Association of Retired Faculty and Staff. Chancellor David Belcher worked closely with me and our organizing faculty committee! 1n 1999, I also founded the Public Policy Institute. State leaders, WCU Faculty and WCU Faculty supported our many policy summits with 500 to 800 attending 10 of our policy summits. Chris Cooper currently does an exceptional job of directing the WCU Public Policy Institute! Covid presented a difficult period for out WCU Association of Retired Faculty and Staff but we will be back up and running soon!
